The good Captain put together this little tidbit based on a cosplay picture of mine, and it got me to thinking.
Now, I'm not saying we would be able to make a Captain Gamer: Digital Defender movie at this point. But on the other hand, what are your thoughts concerning said movie? If you were in it, which part would you want to have? If you wanted to leave it up to known names, who would you put in which role?
On my end, aside from the clear role-placement made for me in the poster, I honestly have no idea. _________________
I personally find the idea interesting, and very amusing. the tough roles to fill would be the varies people Kate list, after all, they all need to have a similar hair color. _________________ Sanity? I threw that away when the world stopped making sense, and it was all the better.

The problem is, none of the people who even know about Captain Gamer know each other personally, with the exception of Firemastrr (the offline) and myself. In addition, some of us live on different continents. Meaning you.
And most of us are too young to have this stuff be very convincing.
The alternative, of course, is to have one person pick people he knows to do it, and have all of us collectively pick it out. But that probably means paying them, since chances are they wouldn't be familiar enough with CG to do it for fun.
Also, if we wanted it for more than personal enjoyment (meaning Captain Gamer selling it and then getting money from us for buying it, which we would) we'd have to use captain ersatzes of all video game characters.
Finally, the reason why no such movie can exist at this point: EVERYONE WOULD KNOW WHO CAPTAIN GAMER IS. Those shades don't exactly Batman his face, the only way we could have some sort of convincing "people try to find out who Captain Gamer is" plot is if we had one guy playing like seven characters.

The whole "one actor playing multiple characters" has actually been done before. For one, Eddie Murphy played a whole host of minor characters in Coming To America, and in Austin Powers, Mike Myers plays the title character, Dr. Evil, and Fat Bastard. (Edit by Captain Gamer: You forgot Goldmember. For shame!) So, even if it may "look really dumb", it's still been done before, and will be done again. Considering how we actually have a good in-story reason for the lookalikes, I think it'd be forgiveable to double up on actors a bit. _________________
One thing I just realized is that video game characters, if we wanted to use them, would vary greatly from how they're actually supposed to look unless we could get some sort of CG budget.
Either that or we find a short Italian guy with a huge nose, giant eyes and no nostrils to play Mario, a little pink guy with a completely round body, no nose, and red feet with no toes to play Kirby, and a giant blue hedgehog to play the giant blue hedgehog.
I suppose this restriction would cease to apply if we went with Koji's captain ersatz idea, but then we'd no longer be using Mario, Sonic and Kirby. Or anyone else who might be in the movie... _________________ The following statement is true : the previous statment was false.
well, with the CGI today mario, kirby, sonic, and anyone else could easily be replicated in ways that make them look practicly real.... except of coarse for Doctors Light and Wily... and if we really felt like it we could get a trained gorila for DK, but it might actually look better as CGI.
also, for the whole selling it "Captain Ersatz" style thing it would still look best in CGI with simmilar traits to the actual characters. and for the whole guessing who gamer is thing even we dont know for sure who captain gamer's secret identity is, or for that matter if he even has one! he has been seen in the comics without his shades, so unless he's revealed his identity to the world in before the comic started and he just wears them as he would carry a security blanket, he probably just doesnt have a "true identity" besides Captain gamer.
