Anything whose name is spelled with a double letter. Jelly can get through, but jam can't, etc.

I was thinking that it might had been colors (brunette, pepper, and evil are thought of as dark colors while blonde, salt, and good are thought of as light colors.), but I didn't think of that... |

No, you read it wrong. Brunette, pepper, and good can pass through, and evil can't.
