....So THAT'S what happened. I never quite understood what was going on there.... >.>
I'm going to go with he didn't have the Atsuken slotted in, because he didnt seem to put any card in and would've had to have it slotted in for a period of time, also anticipating that Sakura would fight him.
I'd figure that by just playing the games with enough dedication, you'd get a rough idea of the Anketsuken style in your head, combined with being around for the street fighter tournement they were all realized for (perhaps seeing Sakura fight then too), along with the way he tends to just go for something and seems to be in at least somewhat reasonable shape...how he got the mario jump for instance, I don't think its too inplausable that he really was just doing it as he went, and tossed in some mimicry of her moves, from the games or otherwise, when he wanted to mess with her head.
Either way, following few strips could be interesting. :3
"Lets Go Justin!"...I mean, Sakura!

Also, you'll notice that in the last OOC comic, the Captain didn't just activate Ryu Ansatsuken, he also activated Mega Man's "Power Swap". It was that which caused the outfit change; logically, if he activated the Ansatsuken card on its own, it would cause no such outfit change.
I'm sure you've noticed, however, that if Mega Man uses a Power Swap he doesn't change his outfit, just the color of his armor, which applies to Mega Man X as well. And how did Cap even get that Card? Didn't he get "Mega Slide" from Mega Man? _________________ Apparantly, I'm like, off the vilg RESERVATION. Whatever that means.
Hey, man, all I know is the Captain called out "Power Copy!" before calling out "Ryu Ansetsuken! [sic]", and that there were pictures of Mega Man and Ryu in the background. I'm not the author. _________________
During chapter 6, closer to the end, after the warp star testing, Dr Light mentions about how the Megaman he built was designed with very specific copy abilities, with preprogrammed backups of the other original robot masters and was thus later inspired by seeing Kirbys abilities, along with noting the other megaman games, to want to put a similarly fluid power copying system into megaman.
So, not suprising that Cap didn't get the power copy before, since Megaman himself didn't have it at the time. So, I guess that means megaman gets rebuilt or upgraded with that ability and that at sometime, Cap gets another game card from Megaman.
...<.< Also, I'm glad I went back and looked up that stuff, since the mention of a more conventional fuel burning spaceship, but still following a videogame theme...although first thoughts might be Gradius, in light of the new chapters name, that is so totally going to be Samus's ship. :3 _________________ Ortus Denicalis
Ahh. Very good point, Konoko. I'd forgotten about that. So, if that's the case, it appears that the Gamer Station can establish multiple Links with a single character, provided that character is altered somehow in between times. Though, that raises the question of what happens to the previously-gained Cards. Are they kept alongside the new? Or do they vanish, as if they are "upgraded" into the new Card - in other words, does the Captain have both Mega Slide and Power Copy in his inventory, or is he limited to Power Copy now?
Also, my first thoughts were actually on Star Fox. _________________
Well, the Megaman power copy is different from the Kirby power copy. With Kirby power copy, you actually need a physical object to become the elemental power. With Megaman power copy...it seems to work with the game cards themselves...for a costume change. =/
Well, that's just what we've seen of it so far, though that is fitting based on Mega Man's own colour-changing during the games. Perhaps it could work with more than Game Cards - could the Captain, for example, Copy an enemy for a quick disguise, and then infiltrate?
Which reminds me of something. Who here thinks that, if the Captain managed to Link with Solid Snake, he'd get a cardboard box? _________________
Don't forget the mullet.
And CQC. NEVER forget the CQC.
<.< How often did they talk about CQC in the metal gear series anyway? I've only played a small bit of it and it seemed to come up a lot...
